Pour marquer les quinze ans du départ soudain de Patrice Duhamel (1970-2008), le label Aquaplanage réédite "Le facteur éolien", l'album enregistré par le trio Gringoplaza lors d’une résidence à Avatar (Québec) en 2002. Composé de Patrice Duhamel, Marc Lalonde et Sébastien Cliche, ce groupe axé principalement sur l'improvisation explorait diverses approches créatives. Partitions visuelles, formats imposés ou intégration d’enregistrements de terrain participaient ainsi à une exploration sonore variée.

Inspiré par les musiques concrètes et cinématiques, Gringoplaza a autoproduit quatre albums entre 2001 et 2004. Parmi cette production, "Le facteur éolien" se démarque comme le plus abouti, fruit de deux années d'exploration au cours desquelles le trio a élargi son territoire. La technique d'enregistrement reste fidèle à celle employée depuis les débuts du groupe. Plutôt que de capter chaque instrument en prise directe, l'approche privilégie l’utilisation de micros judicieusement positionnés dans l'espace du studio. Ainsi, chaque action devient une matière sonore potentielle, capturant la réverbération naturelle du studio, les craquements d'amplificateurs, et la manipulation d'objets. "Le facteur éolien" a été performé en novembre, période froide de la fin de l’automne, ce qui confère une couleur particulière aux textures rugueuses des pièces sélectionnées pour l'album.

To mark the fifteenth anniversary of the sudden departure of Patrice Duhamel (1970-2008), the Aquaplanage label is reissuing "Le facteur éolien," the album recorded by the Gringoplaza trio during a residency at Avatar (Quebec) in 2002. Composed of Patrice Duhamel, Marc Lalonde, and Sébastien Cliche, this group primarily focused on improvisation and explored various creative approaches. Visual scores, imposed formats, and the integration of field recordings contributed to a diversified sonic exploration.

Inspired by concrete and cinematic music, Gringoplaza self-produced four albums between 2001 and 2004. Among this production, "Le facteur éolien" stands out as the most accomplished, the result of two years of exploration during which the trio expanded its territory. The recording technique remained faithful to that used since the group's inception. Instead of capturing each instrument directly, the approach favored the use of strategically positioned microphones in the studio space. Thus, every action became a potential sound material, capturing the studio's natural reverberation, amplifier crackles, and object manipulation. "Le facteur éolien" was performed in November, during the cold period of late autumn, giving a particular color to the rough textures of the pieces selected for the album.
